About Lorraine
Lorraine's roots are in Live literature and poetry. She first started performing on the poetry curcuit in 1998. She underwent the Advanced Mentoring Programme through East kent Live Literature under the National Association of Literature Development (NALD) in 2011, she combines comedy, poetry and storytelling with music. West-Indian story song workshops are her latest workshops.
Training and experience:
Trained as a creative educator for Bigfoot Arts in 2011, worked in primary schools as a music supply teacher, with youth theatre and as a volunteer drama facilitator for adults with learning disability. Lorraine was the director of The Word performance group for over 4 years, organising many events, workshops and performance opportunities for the individuals involved.
Lorraine did Theatre studies as part of an access course with a view to becoming a drama therapist after some involvement with amature dramatics. She has level 3 Certificate in Counselling, Anger and Agression management, Teaching Assistant Diploma and BTEC National in Music Technology level 3. She has completed a certificate in Drama In Education.
Planning to take her studies into a more therapeutic level, she is currently taking a diploma's in Anger Management Consultation, Gestalt therapy and Special Educational Needs at Stonebridge College.
